Gear Score

How the gear you are wearing becomes a number, what actually raises it on Oasis, and what the top 10 are wearing that skill for.

What Gear Score is

A ranking of equipped gear. It is not a combat-power meter.

  • Buffs, dyes, Ability Trees, class skills and consumables do not add points. The score is the gear.
  • Changing gear updates your live score immediately. The public board is a snapshot.
  • That snapshot rebuilds every 6 hours, on the clock: 00:00, 06:00, 12:00 and 18:00 server time. The rank skill updates on the same snapshot.
  • The board shows the top 10. GMs are left off it.
  • .gs info can sit ahead of your listed rank until the next rebuild.

What raises the number

B, A and S pieces the catalog knows. Anything below B adds nothing.

  • Weapons are most of the score. Higher grade and higher enchant are worth more. On weapons, every level from +11 to +16 counts twice. +16 is the server cap and the highest enchant that scores.
  • A retail S weapon in the 12,000 tier is 12,000 at +0 and 25,200 at +16.
  • Armor, jewelry and shields add their own slice. A finished armor set adds a flat 1,500. When that set's enchant bonus applies, that is another 500, and the set shield adds 25.
  • A named special ability on a weapon adds 500. Boss jewelry adds 2,000 on top of its defense score. Masterwork pieces add a flat bonus of their own.
  • A piece the catalog does not know is worth 0. The rest of your gear still counts.
  • A piece the scorer rejects takes you off the board entirely. The usual case is a weapon augment option the server does not recognise. Fix or remove that piece and the rest of the score comes back on the next snapshot.

Rare gear scores more

Oasis rare pieces are stronger than the retail items they copy, and the score follows that.

  • Rare weapons are about 8% above the retail weapon. Enchant scales on that higher base, so the gap grows as you enchant.
  • Rare Basalt starts at 12,940 before enchant. The retail S weapon in that family starts at 12,000. At +16 those are 27,174 and 25,200.
  • Custom duals score from the source weapon's attack. Angel Slayer*Angel Slayer starts at 14,390. Rare Angel Slayer*Angel Slayer starts at 15,570.
  • Rare armor scores 20% more than the same retail piece at the same enchant. Armor is a smaller slice than the weapon; the 1,500 set bonus is the larger armor-side number, and a full rare set still receives it.
  • Rare shields score about 20% more through their higher defense.

Shirt, Excellence, jewels and augments

These do not sit in a weapon or armor slot. They still add points, and .gs info folds them into the armor, jewelry and augment lines.

  • Olf's T-shirt, while equipped: 500 per level. +0 and +1 are both 500. +10 is 5,000. It shows on the armor line.
  • Excellence rune in your inventory: 700 per level. Level 10 is 7,000. Only the highest rune counts. It shows on the augment line.
  • Brooch jewels from the talisman shop, while equipped: Garnet, Aquamarine and Onyx are 200 per level. Diamond and Pearl are 250. Emerald is 300. Six jewels at level 5 are 7,000 together. They show on the jewelry line. A jewel in the inventory adds nothing.
  • Weapon augments use the augment line too. A normal skill option is 1,000. A stat with no skill is 100.
  • Chased options replace that 1,000: Celestial Shield 5,000, Empower 4,500 (chance 2,500), Refresh 4,000, Duel Might 3,500 (chance 2,000), Skill Refresh and Spell Refresh 3,000, Might and Wild Magic 2,500, Focus, Battle Roar and Prayer 2,000, Magic Barrier, Shield, Party Recall and +1 STR, CON, INT or MEN 1,500. Chance versions of the same augment are worth less than the always-on version.

Where to look

Three chat commands, plus the windows on an up-to-date client.

  • .gs — your rank on the last snapshot, and when the next one is.
  • .gs info — the live breakdown of what you are wearing right now.
  • .gs board — the Gear Score page on the community board.
  • Target another player and open their clan details on the target window to see their score. Your own score also shows on the status window.
  • The three commands are limited to 3 uses a minute.

Gear Ascendancy

One passive, ten levels. Level 10 is rank 1. The icon badge shows the skill level; the tooltip names the rank.

  • Rank 1 — +5% PvP damage and +5% PvP defense.
  • Rank 2 — +4%. Rank 3 — +3%.
  • Ranks 4, 5 and 6 — +2%.
  • Ranks 7 through 10 — +1%.
  • It covers physical hits, physical skills and magic skills, on both the damage side and the defense side. It is not an EXP or PvE bonus.
  • The skill is not saved. Drop out of the top 10 on a refresh and it is removed. It does not apply in the Olympiad.
  • It can sit next to Apex Blessing and Class Champion if you also hold those. It does not replace them.
  • Equipping a better weapon does not grant the skill on the spot. The next 6-hour snapshot does.

Quick answers

The mismatches players hit first: live score versus the board, and pieces that look equipped but add nothing.

I just equipped a better weapon. Why didn't my rank move?

The live score moved. .gs info and the status window show that. The board and Gear Ascendancy wait for the next snapshot at 00:00, 06:00, 12:00 or 18:00.

Why is .gs info higher than the board?

The board is the last snapshot. .gs info is what you are wearing now. They match again after the next rebuild.

Do rare weapons and armor really score more?

Yes. Rare weapons are about 8% above the retail weapon, and enchant grows that gap. Rare armor is 20% above the same retail piece. Rare shields follow their higher defense.

My shirt and Excellence didn't count.

The shirt and the brooch jewels have to be equipped. Excellence has to be in the inventory, and only the highest rune counts. The snapshot also needs at least one scored weapon, armor piece, jewel or shield on the character — a shirt alone, with nothing else the catalog knows, is not enough while you are offline.

I'm not on the board at all.

Either no B/A/S gear was equipped at the last update, the character is a GM, or a piece you have equipped was rejected — usually an unknown weapon augment. An item the catalog simply does not know is different: it adds 0 and the rest of your gear still counts.

Does Gear Ascendancy work in Olympiad, and does it stack with Apex?

It does not apply in the Olympiad. It does stack with Apex Blessing and Class Champion if you hold those as well. Lose the rank on the next refresh and the skill is removed.

Next step

Enchant the weapon, finish the set, and keep the shirt, Excellence and jewels on the character. The board catches up at the next snapshot.
